Why are more and more people moving away from ribbon mixers to our fluidized mixers for powder into powder mixing ?

Many years ago if you wanted to mix powders together then a ribbon mixer would have been a sensible go to solution.   However, back then perhaps energy used, mixing times and labour were not as thoroughly scrutinized as they are today.   Many people are looking for a more modern solution.

What makes the fluidized mixer so great for quickly and thoroughly powder mixing is that the rotating blades physically throw the powders up into the air, these forces negate gravity.   This is important is it means that ingredients of very different sizes and densities can be easily mixed.

Because the process is more efficient and thorough what may have taken an hour will now take under 20 mins !   Of course it is not just the time, there are savings on labour, energy used and powder used when compared to a ribbon blender mixer.  

Surprisingly, even with these high velocities and fast mixing it is a fairly gentle process.
